Universities and Colleges

Bowdoin College is a highly selective, independent, coeducational undergraduate liberal arts institution founded in 1796.  

College for Kids is a stimulating and fun environment for kids in grades 1 – 6.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University offers Associate and Bachelor degrees and Master degrees in aviation related occupations.

Midcoast Senior College provides intellectually stimulating learning opportunities for those 55 years of age and older.

Southern Maine Community College/Bath Campus offers a wide variety of courses and Associates degrees.

Southern New Hampshire University offers  a state-of-the-art wireless facility with programs ranging from psychology to the Global M.B.A  

University College of Bath/Brunswick offers a wide variety of courses (credit and non-credit), continuing education and coordinates with other campuses to offer Associates and Bachelor degrees.

Adult Education

Bath Adult Ed, Bailey Evening School offers GED and wide variety of computer, vocational and enrichment courses. 

Merrymeeting Regional Adult Ed offer GED and a wide variety of vocational, craft, recreational and cultural courses.

Brunswick Parks & Recreation offer recreational and craft courses.

Maine Vocational Educational Region 10 Adult Education offers a range of training courses.

Literacy Volunteers of America offers free confidential tutoring for reading

Tri-County Literacy Volunteers offers free confidential tutoring for reading

Public Schools

The Towns of Arrowsic, Georgetown, West Bath, Phippsburg and Woolwich form School Union 47 which has four elementary schools. Students may attend any state-approved middle or high school.

The City of Bath has two elementary schools, one junior high and one high school.

The Towns of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell and Topsham form School Administrative District (SAD) #75 and have six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.

The Town of Brunswick has four elementary schools, one junior high and one high school.

The Town of Richmond has one elementary school, one middle school and one high school.


The Town of Wiscasset has one elementary school, one middle school and one high school.

Maine Vocational Education Region 10 serves high school students from school systems in Brunswick Freeport and SAD #75.

Private Schools

Chop Point School is a college preparatory program for K through 12 with an emphasis on Christian values.

Hyde School serves 9 through post-graduate in a residential college preparatory program with emphasis on character, education and family involvement.

Midcoast Montessori School serves pre-K through 6 and provides an enriched and thoughtfully prepared learning environment. 

St. John’s Catholic School serves pre-K though 8 and provides education for families seeking the continuity and traditional values of a Catholic School.
