Brunswick Explorer service to continue uninterrupted using different buses

April 20, 2016

Operation of the Brunswick Explorer bus service will continue uninterrupted but, initially, with different buses as Western Maine Transportation Services takes over running the route from Coastal Trans on Monday, April 25.

WMTS General Manager, Sandy Buchanan, said, “Needed maintenance for the familiar blue and green Brunswick Explorer buses won’t be complete in time for our start on Monday due to delays in the vehicle titling process. To assure reliability and continuity, WMTS will use larger white buses with Mountain Explorer graphics. These buses are also wheelchair accessible.”

Buchanan stated, ”Our maintenance team just completed thorough post-season maintenance on the Mountain Explorer buses, which run between the town of Bethel and the Sunday River ski area from December to April. Using these buses will provide us the time we need to perform equally-thorough maintenance on the Brunswick Explorer vehicles before returning them to service.”

Buchanan said, “We’re looking forward to serving Brunswick, starting Monday, and to returning the Brunswick Explorer to its full schedule as soon as possible.”
