Brunswick Music Festival Welcomes Casey Oakes as PR and Marketing Coordinator

BRUNSWICK, ME — Bowdoin International Music Festival is pleased to announce that Casey Oakes has been hired as PR and Marketing Coordinator. The position was recently created in an effort to further the reach and growth of the organization. Oakes joins the Festival from a rich background in theater work. He is delighted to adapt his existing knowledge set to promote and bolster classical music.

Oakes will help plan the Festival’s upcoming 52nd season. “Casey’s hiring adds an essential capability to our staff that we have lacked before now,” said Executive Director, Peter Simmons. Kippy Rudy, Director of Development, added, “We are confident that with his unique tool set and experiences he will help the Festival evolve. Casey could not be joining us at a more perfect time. The Festival is doing wonderfully and he will be instrumental in building on more than fifty years of success.”

 

Casey Oakes is a Maine native who recently returned to the state after seven years working and studying in various locations throughout the world, including Tacoma, Washington and Dublin, Ireland. Oakes previously worked at Cape May Stage in Cape May, New Jersey and Gloucester Stage in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he contributed to a complete overhaul of the theatre’s public image and marketing strategy, increasing attendance and attracting new patrons. He was employed most recently at Portland, Maine’s Good Theater. Oakes comments, “My greatest passion is the support and development of the arts. Bowdoin International Music Festival has an incredible reputation and I couldn’t be more pleased to be a part of the organization. It’s great to be back in Maine and helping to strengthen the artistic community I love so much.”
