Brunswick Music Festival Welcomes Nancy Simmons as Administrative Assistant

December 2, 2015

Bowdoin International Music Festival is pleased to announce that Nancy Simmons has been hired as the new Administrative Assistant and Data Manager. Simmons joins the Festival from a diverse background with nonprofits and education. “I’m excited to join the Festival,” Nancy says. “I look forward to developing relationships with the staff, board, and all participants.”

Simmons will be instrumental in organization and management as preparations for the Festival’s upcoming 52nd season continue. “It is wonderful to have Nancy on our team,” said Director of Operations and Admissions, Jen Means. Kippy Rudy, Director of Development, added, “After interviewing multiple applicants it became clear that Nancy was the right fit for the position. Her background exhibits the precise qualities we were searching for. She is organized, passionate, hardworking, and a joy to have in the office. She is a terrific addition to our staff for what is sure to be a tremendous 52nd season.”

Nancy Simmons joins the Festival from Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers Maine, where she was the Program Coordinator for the Stay in Your Home and Weatherization and Repair Programs, and an Executive Assistant. Simmons has a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Bridgeport and was until recently an Adjunct Professor in communications at Central Maine Community College. Prior to her work at Habitat, she was a middle school teacher in Cumberland for many years. Nancy is enthusiastic about joining the Festival team, which she has experienced for many years first-hand at concerts. Simmons will be crucial in assisting the admissions office, which gets underway this month.
