Local area agencies received 4 decorative Christmas trees donated by Target in partnership with United Way of Mid Coast Maine.

December 9, 2014

Local area agencies received 4 decorative Christmas trees this week, donated by Target in partnership with United Way of Mid Coast Maine.

Agency representatives from Independence Association and the Salvation Army of Bath/Brunswick met with David Noonan, Jona Pillsbury, and Emily Hagan of the Topsham Target to accept the trees.  The Salvation Army trees will be given to families in need. The Independence Association trees will decorate two of their residential homes.

Target’s Share-A-Tree program gives away the decorative trees from their store display, working with United Way since 1962 to find agencies that can use the trees to help bring the spirit of the holiday season to local people. This year Target will donate over 3300 trees around the country.

United Way of Mid Coast Maine’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.  In partnership with thousands of donors, United Way works on community solutions in the areas of education, financial stability, and health.  It funds local programs that change thousands of lives in Brunswick and Harpswell, Sagadahoc and Lincoln Counties.
