Mid Coast Hospital Recognizes Employees for Years of Service

June 2, 2015

Brunswick, ME – Mid Coast Hospital employees were recognized for their hard work and dedication during a heartfelt afternoon reception on Thursday, May 28. Hospital administration presented almost 150 individuals with awards, celebrating milestone service anniversaries in 5-year increments. More than half of the employees recognized have worked at Mid Coast Hospital in excess of 10 years.

Sue Dentico, RN, Maternity Care nurse, and Gerard Poliquin, with Environmental Services, were the most tenured award recipients, celebrating 40 years of service.

Several nurses were among those recognized for more than 30 years of service, speaking to the longevity and level of satisfaction among the nursing staff. Many commented on the rapid pace of change within the field and their gratification for the professional development opportunities at Mid Coast, remarking on how many nurses have achieved specialty certifications.

Sharon Guethle, RN, has been with the organization for almost 36 years working at Bath Memorial Hospital, Brunswick Regional Hospital, and now Mid Coast Hospital. She commented, “Over the years, the technology has changed considerably, but patient care remains the same; Patients always come first.” She added, “Mid Coast Hospital is cheerful and healing. It is still small enough that the sense of community is present and everyone here knows each other.”

Among those recognized were mother and daughter Lauren Doran, RN, CPHQ and Cassie Koslosky, FNP, recognized for 25 and 15 years respectively. Doran commented, “Working at a community hospital, we never lose sight of the fact that we are taking care of our family, friends, and neighbors. I am so grateful to work at Mid Coast Hospital with all of our wonderful and dedicated staff.”

Lois Skillings, President and CEO of Mid Coast Health Services, commented, “This annual event is such a great opportunity to recognize Mid Coast Hospital employees for their hard work and commitment to the Mid Coast team. As one of the area’s largest employers, many recognized live right here in our community, helping to provide high-quality healthcare to our region.” She also acknowledged that Mid Coast Senior Health Center and CHANS Home Healthcare, both part of the Mid Coast Family of Services, plan to recognize employees at a separate event scheduled on June 24.
