ROBERT GERSENY JOINS BAR HARBOR BANK & TRUST

Bar Harbor, Maine – Curtis C. Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, along with the Board of Directors, is pleased to welcome Robert P. Gerseny, JD as President of Bar Harbor Trust Services and Senior Vice President of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.  His office will be located at 135 High Street in Ellsworth effective February 2, 2015.

 For over 25 years, Robert has been managing Trust divisions at various financial institutions, most recently serving as Chief Fiduciary Officer at Cambridge Associates, LLC in Boston.  He began his career in financial services in 1983 with National City Bank in Ohio as a management trainee, after graduating from law school at Ohio Northern University.  For the following 14 years Robert was with Huntington National Bank in Columbus Ohio in Trust roles of increasing responsibility, rising to Senior Vice President and Group Product Manager.  In 2001, Robert relocated to New Hampshire to run the Trust division of RBS Citizens NA, managing a three state region including Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, focusing on non-profit endowment management and increasing customer service levels. In 2011 he joined Cambridge Associates to start their Trust division. 

 As President of Bar Harbor Trust Services, Robert will have overall bank administrative responsibility for the activities of Bar Harbor Trust Services as well as Bar Harbor Financial Services, a branch of Infinex Investments, Inc., an independent registered broker-dealer which is not affiliated with the Company or the Bank.

 Robert earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio Wesleyan University and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University.  He has been an active member of his community serving in leadership roles with various nonprofits including the American Red Cross, New Hampshire Symphony Orchestra, Rotary, and several others.  He and his wife, Patrice, will be relocating to Hancock County, Maine from Hopkinton, New Hampshire.  They have two grown daughters who are college graduates working in their selected fields.
