Substantial Damage to Virginia's boat shed

Bath Freight Shed, Bath ME

Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

Under threatening skies a dedicated group of Virginia volunteers convened on Halloween to finish the job nature started on the boatshed. Collapsing under 73mph to 76mph gusts during the night of Sandy's fury, Virginia's boatshed is being mostly demolished and recycled/scrapped. The boatshed will be rebuilt with reinforced structure, hopefully before snow flies. Fortunately no damage to volunteers, Virginia, tools or adjoining structure was sustained. Because we were only partially insured we are soliciting your contributions for use in purchasing materials for building new boat shed bows and ordering the greenhouse material to rebuild our boatshed. A great many unexpected number of volunteer hours will be needed, new volunteers are always welcome!  Reply to this email to get on the local volunteer email list for work days, tools and other materials needed to rebuild a stronger, better boatshed for our winter building activities and beyond.
