Tech Place

December 30, 2014

The doors are expected to open soon for TechPlace, a federally backed, 90,000-square-foot business incubator focused on various technology sectors at Brunswick Landing.

The Forecaster reported that Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority, the developer of Brunswick Landing and TechPlace, already has 10 business tenants lined up for a 20,000-square-foot office space at 74 Orion St. that will be available in January as part the incubator's first phase. The second phase will include laboratory space for biotechnology research.

TechPlace aims to attract small businesses in various technology sectors, including aerospace, composite materials, renewable energy and information technology. Various business services will be provided, including business and legal advice.

Steve Levesque, MRRA's executive director, told the newspaper the space is designed to encourage collaboration between tenant businesses, "where companies collect and collaborate on projects and even form their own companies in this environment."
