The Telephone Association of New England Inducts Mike Reed into its Hall of Fame

FairPoint’s Maine State President becomes 35th Person in the Association’s Hall of Fame

 

Portland, Maine (June 26, 2013) – The Telephone Association of New England (TANE) recently inducted Mike Reed, FairPoint Communications Maine state president into its Hall of Fame.  Reed was honored in May at TANE’s annual convention at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.

Reed has more than 40 years of managerial, technical and administrative experience in the telecommunications industry.  Prior to joining FairPoint in 2010, he worked at TDS Telecom and NYNEX Corporation. At FairPoint, Reed is responsible for regulatory matters, governmental affairs and public relations for Maine, as well as regulatory matters and governmental affairs for the FairPoint in 14 states outside of northern New England.  

Reed is past chairman of the New York State Telecommunications Association and past president of the New Hampshire Telecommunications Association.  He also served on the board of directors for Maine and Vermont Telecommunications Associations. He currently serves on the board of directors of Maine & Company.

Election into the TANE Hall of Fame is awarded to persons who merit special recognition for their outstanding contributions to the telephone industry in New England.  Reed becomes the 35th person inducted into the TANE Hall of Fame which was founded in 1989.
