Community Calendar

Come meet the 2019 Board of Directors and kick off the new year with food and drink as the Hampton Inn hosts the January after Hours on Thursday January 31.  There will be a big turnout as during this event the SMMC will be holding our Annual Meeting of the Membership which is required by our bylaws beginning at 6PM.  

This can get confusing as this is NOT the annual awards event, but rather the bylaw-mandated meeting where we convene the membership once per year to introduce the incoming slate of Board of Directors and confirm a slate by voice vote.  That is usually the only bit of official business done, but if another Chamber issue arises any member can bring any business forward.  We do ask if you are planning to present something that you let us know ahead of time so we can build that into the event so we can be respectful of the time this session of the event will take. 

After the board slate is approved and their is no other business we will close the meeting and continue with your regularly scheduled After Hours.  It is an important piece to introduce the board to you.  

The other reason for a big turnout is because the Hampton Inn has gone all out with bringing other businesses in to help make the event so special.  They will have tours, food and drink provided by Byrne's Irish Pub and Coincinnity.  And a myriad of raffle prizes from: Bohemian Rose, J.R. Maxwell's, House of Logan, Now You're Cooking, Springer's Jewelers, The Brunswick Hotel & Tavern, Over the Moon, J'adore, Calm Moments Skin Care and more.  

So many new members will be joining us too to meet our members and new board members too.  It should be a great- please register today so we have an accurate head count for food and drink!  As always if you don;t need a name tag but want to register for head count (which we love) please say 'no name tag needed' in the notes section of the registration.  Cheers!
