July’s Brunswick Art Walk Promises New Artistic Experiences

Interested in hearing some live music locally while enjoying some fine art? How about discovering the fun of live installation art? Willing to support your local artists as you think about gifts for friends or ways to enliven your home? You can accomplish all this and more at the Brunswick Art Walk on Friday, July 11. Musical and visual art venues will be stationed as usual around Maine and Pleasant Streets in downtown Brunswick, as well as at Fort Andross from 5-8PM.

Susan Perrine’s twig installation art, at the corner of Maine and Mason streets, will be one of the special July events not to be missed. As Susan says, “I grew up on a farm and have always spent a lot of time outdoors, walking the fields and woods near home. I try to use methods and materials to reflect the connection I feel towards the natural environment.”

Musicians will be out in force this month at locations and strolling. Come around to hear Gather Round (at Bank of America), Andrew Thomas (Brunswick Inn), Married with Chitlins (Curtis Library), Hurry Down Sunshine (Cool as a Moose), Golden Oak (St Paul’s Church), Carolyn Currie (Tontine Mall), and Lauren Crosby Lindsey at Gelato Fiasco). In addition, David Daniels will be strolling and singing.

Visual artists will be found at St Paul’s church, Fort Andross and at local studios along Pleasant and Maine Streets. In addition, several businesses on Maine Street will be hosting an artist, so plan to drop by. Finally, fine crafts people will display their wares at the Brunswick Inn.

Remember, free bus service is provided for art walk participants and makes round trips every 15 minutes. Look for the balloons and art walk flags designating the bus stops.

Whatever art you enjoy, you are sure to find something to delight your senses! Come, support you local artists, and enjoy a fun filled evening!

July’s Art Walk is sponsored by the Five Rivers Arts Alliance and takes place on the second Friday of each month from 5PM to 8PM.
