Ever wish you could identify the mushrooms that pop up along your favorite trail? Or perhaps you are a forager already, but want to know more? This is your opportunity to learn from one of our most experienced local mushroom enthusiasts, Michaeline Mulvey!

Presented by the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust this 2.5 hour workshop will be held rain or shine and will include discussion and demonstration of mushroom ecology, anatomy, ethical harvesting, resources, safety, and collection. Proper cooking and preservation techniques will also be discussed before we head into the forest to learn where to look and how to see mushrooms. The group will review the day’s discoveries following the foraging session. Feel free to bring mushrooms in good condition that you are curious about. Come prepared with: appropriate clothes and footwear for the weather and bushwhacking; a basket; knife; paper bags; a 10x hand lens if you have one; notebook; and favorite field guide (optional).

The cost of this event is $10. RSVP to get details on the meeting place (to be determined based on where the foraging is good!). Please bring cash or check payment to the event.
