This Veteran’s Day, Spectrum Generations is again honoring those who have so bravely served this country with special luncheons at three of its community centers.  These luncheons will be free for Veterans, but also open to our Veteran’s families and the general public for a small fee.  We hope you can join us at one of these luncheons.

Friday, November 7 from 11:30am to 1pm at Spectrum Generation’s Muskie Center located at 38 Gold Street in Waterville.  Featured guests include Conrad Edwards, Veteran’s Advocate from the Bureau of Veterans’ Service.  Conrad will be available between 10 to 11am to speak with Veteran’s about benefits they may be entitled to.  At 11am, Mr. Herb Blake from the Maine Wood Carvers Association will talk about the history of the Eagle Cane Project.  From 12:30 to 1pm there will be a musical tribute to each branch of the service.  This event is open to the public and free for Veterans. The cost for non-veterans age 60+ or disabled is $5.00, and under age 60, $6.00. Space is limited - pre-registration is encouraged. Call 873-4745 or just stop by the center.

Monday, November 10 from 11am to 12:30pm at Spectrum Generations Cohen Center located at 22 Town Farm Road in Hallowell.  Our guest speaker will be Conrad Edwards, Veterans Advocate from the Bureau of Veterans’ Service, with live entertainment by Harpist, Deb Ridlon.  This event is open to the public and is free for Veterans. S. military or are the widow or dependent of a Veteran you may be entitled to benefits. Call 563-1363 to let us know you are coming.

Thursdays, November 6 and 20 from 9am to 1pm, Conrad Edwards, Veterans Advocate from the Bureau of Veterans’ Service will be at our Knox Center in Rockland to talk with Veterans and  widows/widowers of Veterans about benefits and services they may be entitled to.  Free by appointment – call 596-0339.

Friday, November 7 at 10am, join us at our Waldo Center located at 18 Merriam Road in Belfast for a “coffee hour” (or a bit longer if you wish) and enjoy conversation with fellow Veterans and staff from Spectrum Generations, Tall Pines, BayView Manor and Harbor Hill. Call 338-1190 and let us know you are coming.

Monday, November 10 at 9:30am – join us at our Coastal Center in Damariscotta to share your stories, photographs, scrapbooks, uniforms, and memories. Let us hear the story of “Why You Served.” Help us make this a special time to share and time to give our thanks as we guard your legacy and honor your sacrifice. Call 563-1363 to let us know you are coming.

Wednesday, November 12 at 1:30pm – join us at our Coastal Center in Damariscotta to try Acutonics, with Acupuncturist Sharon Gordon.  Acutonics is a unique blend of Eastern and Western medicine. Veterans and family members who have been introduced to acutonics sound healing say that they haven't been this calm or slept so well in years! Tuning forks are used to activate the acupuncture points rather than needles, creating the same beneficial effects as acupuncture without the invasive needles. Veterans & family members free.  Call 563-1363 to let us know you are coming.

America is founded on the principle of freedom, justice and Liberty for all.  Our nation’s soldiers serve every day to protect our country and its ideals.  On Veteran’s Day, please take a moment to remember those who sacrifice their lives every moment to achieve peace and democracy.

“Our veterans accepted the responsibility to defend America and uphold our values when duty called.”
—Bill Shuster
