Our Health Film & Discussion Series: Food Stamped 7:00 PM Frontier Cinema+Cafe , Brunswick, ME

The “Our Health: Film and Discussion Series” continues on June 2 at Frontier Cinema and Café in Brunswick. Offered jointly by Mid Coast Hospital and Access Health, the next film, “Food Stamped” will screen at 7:00 p.m., followed by a discussion about food insecurity and access to healthy foods in the Midcoast region. The event is free and open to the public.

An informative and humorous documentary film, “Food Stamped” follows a couple as they attempt to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet on a food stamp budget. Through their adventures they consult with members of U.S. Congress, food justice organizations, nutrition experts, and people living on food stamps to take a deep look at America's broken food system.

Tasha Gerken, MS, RD, Nutrition Educator with Access Health and Lee Cataldo, Outreach & Education Coordinator with Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust, will be joined by Mary Turner, Food Security Coalition Coordinator, and Ethan Minton, Program Director, with Mid Coast Hunger Prevention, to lead the audience in a discussion directly following the film.

The film series continues throughout the year, featuring films that shine a spotlight on important health topics for the Midcoast region. For upcoming films and to reserve seats, visit: http://www.explorefrontier.com/schedule/film.
