You are invited to Richmond Renaissance Days at the waterfront on July 24-25. Come enjoy the music, food and merriment. Learn about jousting and see knights in live steel combat. Shoot a handmade long bow and arrow. Allow your children to be knighted by the Queen’s knights or have tea with the Queen. All this plus a Friday night outdoor movie, unicycle riders, and the usual favorites: Swan Island tours, lobster crate races, bouncy houses, games of chance and much more! Dress up and be part of the fun or come as you are!

Featured Performers:

The Brotherhood of the Arrow and the Sword: Unarmored Life on the Battlefield: The Brotherhood’s educational and entertaining demonstrations present life as it was on the 15th century battlefield, including demonstrations of live steel combat using dulled weapons while wearing period armor and archery demonstrations Along with our shows we’ll have our education-based military encampment, open to the public. Sir Brian deCatton and Marcus Bowyer will educate and entertain you about life in medieval renaissance times!

Shimmynanigans: Watch as these beautiful gypsies mesmerize and delight as they bellydance their way into your heart!

The Corr Thieves: Wanted – For Causing Mischief and Merriment!
They sing, they dance, and they spread hilarity everywhere they go. Their action and humor-filled show is guaranteed to leave you breathless with laughter!

Prydein: Bagpipe Rock!
Our headline act on Saturday night is Prydein, a Celtic rock band born in the Green Mountains of Northern Vermont. Traditional highland bagpiping mixed with modern rock flavor, Prydein is an experience to see live. Thanks to the impeccable bagpiping of Iain MacHarg and the vocal/guitar work of Aron Garceau, with Andy Smith on bass and Caleb Bronz on drums, the boys have become staples of the Highland Games circuit as well as headliners at Celtic music festivals across the nation. Prydein has shared the stage with such noted performers as The Tannahil Weavers, Enter the Haggis, and the Red Hot Chili Pipers. While this may not be your great-grandfather’s Celtic band, Prydein is your Celtic rock band.
