Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education (MLDSE), a nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce the start of their Brunswick, Maine Lyme Disease support group location. Beginning Wed July 1, the group will meet at Midcoast Hospital in conference rooms 1 & 2 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This meeting will be held the first Wednesday of every month at this location and time.

The group also meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Rockport at the Midcoast Recreation Center from 6-8pm and the last Tuesday of the month in Wiscasset at the Wiscasset Community Center from 6-8pm.

Paula Jackson Jones and Angele Rice, both Lyme Disease survivors, co-founded the Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education, which is a recognized Maine-state supporting affiliate group with the national Lyme Disease Association. Their mission is to raise awareness, foster education, advocate for change and provide local community support to those and their families affected by Lyme Disease and associated tick-borne diseases in the Midcoast region of Maine.

The support group meetings offer information, education and a ray of hope for those struggling for answers and directions. Guest speakers come every other month and share their expertise in the field of tick-borne diseases. The meetings are free and open to the public. It is a support group setting and there is no childcare so we ask that you plan accordingly.If you have Lyme, think that you may have Lyme, know someone who has Lyme or just want to know more about Lyme, prevention, diagnosis and treatment options, then this group is for YOU!
