Living Well Program 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM Golden Oldies Senior Center 314 Front St. , Richmond

Learning that you or a loved one has a health condition that will never go away – such as arthritis, high blood pressure, cancer, weight issues, depression, heart disease or diabetes can be scary.  It can also be a positive wake-up call and an invitation to learn how to live well.

Across Sagadahoc County people are learning how to manage their chronic health conditions by participating in the Living Well Program.  It is delivered in a series of classes taught by trained community members, many of whom have chronic conditions themselves.

It’s a proven program, developed by Stanford University and supported by Spectrum Generations, and it works. Participants have less pain, more energy and fewer hospitalizations. Discussions and activities focus on dealing with frustration, exercising at your level of ability, working with your healthcare provider, setting goals and much more.  Participants are able to live the lives they want, and gain the ability and confidence to care for their condition.

Richmond is fortunate to hold Living Well workshops.

The next 6-week Living Well workshop series will be held on Tuesdays from September 22 through October 27 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at the Golden Oldies Senior Center, 314 Front Street, Richmond, Maine

To register for this class or for more information, call Jennifer Fortin at Spectrum Generations, 620-1657, or by e-mail at Jfortin@spectrumgenerations.org
