Barbara Desmaris, local historian, cemetery researcher, and blogger, will be our speaker. Commissioned in 1943, the Brunswick Naval Air Station occupied nearly 1,500 acres of land, a part of which was donated by the town. The remainder of the land was privately owned, creating disruption to the lives of many residents. Barbara will speak about the farms and families, as well as the cemeteries and individual graves, displaced by the creation of BNAS.
