For nearly a century, the Sewall family built and managed a fleet of more than one hundred merchant vessels. They built the largest wooden square-riggers in the U.S. and the only American-built fleet of steel sailing ships. This special exhibit honors the Sewalls who have been intimately involved with MMM since its beginning.
The Percy and Small is the only surviving shipyard in America where large wooden sailing vessels were constructed. Listen to the story of this unique site in the shadow of the life size sculpture of Wyoming, the largest wooden sailing ship ever built.
