These temporary measures will help relieve the financial burden of temporary layoffs, isolation, and medically-necessary quarantine by making unemployment benefits available to individuals whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19.
“If workers do not have access to employer-provided paid time off or leave, this legislation can provide an important partial wage replacement,” Labor Commissioner Laura Fortman said. “This helps not only the individual but allows employers to retain their workforce and stabilize local economies.”

Brunswick and Portland, Maine – Representatives from Mid Coast–Parkview Health and MaineHealth received final clearance yesterday to move forward with the planned merger of the two healthcare organizations. Mid Coast–Parkview Health will join MaineHealth as a member on March 1, 2020 and will work toward full integration over the next several months as operations become unified.

Midcoast Maine’s Got Talent 2020: Call for Participants The Brunswick Rotary Club is now accepting applications for “Midcoast Maine’s Got Talent 2020!” The ninth edition of this fun and well-attended local talent show will be held on May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Crooker Theatre in Brunswick. Brunswick, Maine – This fall, Mid Coast–Parkview Health welcomed the return of David Dumont, MD, FACEP, FAAFP. Dr. Dumont recently completed a palliative care fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. He formerly served as a hospitalist and as the Senior Medical Director of Quality and Acute Care at Mid Coast–Parkview Health.
