AHCH presents “Heart of Hospice Award” to S.G. Thilbault Funeral Home & Rumford Eagles Auxiliary.

Lewiston, ME - The Heart of Hospice Award is presented to individuals or organizations that understand and embrace the mission of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice (AHCH) and its hospice program; those awarded put the patient and family first, provide accessible, compassionate, expert hospice and palliative care to members of the communities. 

It was with great pleasure that AHCH’s hospice program awarded Dan Gauvin and the entire team at S.G.   Thilbault Funeral Home & the Rumford Eagles Auxiliary the Heart of Hospice Award. Nominations for this award come directly from the hospice interdisciplinary staff to honor those who demonstrate exceptional commitment, compassion and shared support of hospice patients and the hospice team at AHCH. “S.G. Thilbault Funeral Home & Rumford Eagles Auxiliary, are supporting AHCH and our staff so we can continue to provide high quality hospice care in the Rumford area. Their leadership and compassion make them our heroes who truly exemplify the heart of hospice,” shares Karen Flynn, AHCH’s Hospice Director.

Thibault Funeral Home has recognized and partnered with AHCH hospice for many years. They provide an annual in-service to hospice providers, mindful that clinical staff require ongoing continuing education credits as well as sponsors the annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser hosted by the Rumford Eagles Auxiliary with all proceeds going to support hospice care.

The Rumford Eagles Auxiliary Club exemplifies service to others and has been a supporter of AHCH Hospice for many years. For the last 5 years AHCH hospice staff have attended this fundraiser and speak highly of the event and the visible commitment made to support our ability to provide compassionate hospice care to those who are at end of life. We appreciate their commitment which allows us to provide care to anyone who qualifies regardless of ability to pay.
