Bar Harbor Bank & Trust welcomes Richard Maltz, EVP/Chief Risk Officer

Curtis C. Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, along with the Board of Directors, is pleased welcome Richard (Rick) Maltz, EVP/Chief Risk Officer to Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.

With over 30 years of experience in banking, Rick will focus on all aspects of enterprise risk management at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. He will help establish best practices in credit, information technology & security, fraud prevention & detection, regulatory compliance, and managed assets. In today’s banking environment Rick’s proactive leadership across the full breadth of risk management activities will be a valuable asset for the Bank.

Prior to joining Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, Rick spent the last 15 years at Bangor Savings Bank serving in a variety of executive capacities, including the last eight years as EVP/Chief Risk Officer. Prior to Bangor Savings Bank, Rick worked for three of the country’s 10 largest financial institutions in Maryland and New York.

A native of New York, Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Haven. He is also a CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Rick’s hobbies include hiking, fishing, snowmobiling and hunting. He and his wife, Kelly, live in Hampden and have three grown children.
