The law firm of Eaton Peabody is delighted to welcome experienced litigation attorney Erica Johanson to its Portland, Maine office. For the past three years, Erica has served as a law clerk to Judge Nancy Torresen at the United States District Court, District of Maine.

“With her experience as law clerk in Maine’s state and federal courts and over five years as a litigation attorney in Maine, I am thrilled to have Erica to join our growing litigation team in the Portland office,” said David M. Austin, Eaton Peabody’s Managing Partner. “With the breadth of Erica’s experience in commercial litigation, she is a strong addition to our Portland-based litigation attorneys, Neal Pratt and Seth Brewster.”

From 2006 to 2011, Erica was a litigation associate at the law firm of Monaghan Leahy, LLP (Portland), where she handled a broad range of civil matters. After graduating law school, she served as a law clerk in the Maine Superior Court, working for Chief Justice Humphrey and Justices Crowley and Warren. Prior to law school, Erica was managing editor for Other Press, and assistant editor for HarperCollins Publishers, both in New York City.

Ms. Johanson received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School where she was a senior editor of Uniform Commercial Code Digest and manager of the BCLS Craven Constitutional Law Moot Court Team. She graduated from Swarthmore College (Swarthmore, Pennsylvania) with a B.A. with honors in Philosophy, minor in Comparative Literature.
