ED WYATT JOINS BAR HARBOR BANK & TRUST

Curtis C. Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, along with the Board of Directors, is pleased welcome Bruce Edwin (Ed) Wyatt, Jr. VP/Community Banking Manager to Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.  Ed’s office is located in the Bar Harbor branch at 82 Main Street. 

With 18 years experience in commercial lending, Ed is leading the Bank’s efforts to streamline the lending and loan approval process to better serve the needs of small businesses looking for loans under $250,000.  Ed works closely with the bank’s Regional Market Managers, assisting with the review and approval of these loan requests.

Ed started his banking career in 1996, participating in the well known and highly regarded Barnett Bank management and credit training program in Sarasota, Florida, working there for four years.  For the next six years he held the position of Vice President of Commercial Banking/Commercial Real Estate at two Florida banks, consecutively.  In 2006 Ed joined Freedom Bank as Regional President and Commercial Team Leader.  For the past six years Ed has been with Synovus Bank of Florida, based in Sarasota, working as SVP/Senior Commercial Banker. Ed possesses knowledge in commercial and industrial relationships, commercial real estate transactions, construction, SBA, consumer loans, debt restructure and collections.  He was rated the Top Commercial Banker for the west coast of Florida and is a great mentor and coach to the lenders he supervises.

Ed received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina-Upstate and his MBA in international business from the University of South Florida.  In the community Ed has volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, United Way and Habitat for Humanity.

A native of South Carolina, Ed, his wife, Ginny, and their three children are excited to be re-locating to Hancock County on a year round basis, residing in Bar Harbor.  In addition to spending time with family, his personal interests include participating in triathlons, marathons and flying.
