FairPoint Communications Continues to Bring More Broadband to Maine

 FairPoint expands Broadband service in Harpswell

 PORTLAND, Maine (May 29, 2014) – More Mainers quickly e-mail photos, download music, participate in e-learning and video conferencing now that FairPoint Communications has expanded broadband service to 129 homes and businesses in the town of Harpswell, Maine.  FairPoint high-speed Internet is available for the first time to the eligible customers living in the areas described below. 

Since April 2008, FairPoint has invested more than $700 million in its communications infrastructure and technology to reach new customers, upgrade its network and expand broadband in northern New England, including building thousands of miles of new fiber across the region, offering customers a better, faster way to communicate.

“Broadband access opens doors to the world for the residents and businesses in Maine and is fundamental to the state’s future economic growth,” said Mike Reed, FairPoint’s Maine state president. “Our employees are working every day to build more broadband across the state. We are pleased to announce the availability of high-speed Internet for these residents in Harpswell.” 

High-speed connection areas include portions of the following roads/streets in Harpswell: Afterglow Lane, Ashcroft Farm, Cunner Rock, Dorrie, Frostfish Cove, Harpswell Neck, Headland, High Head Lane, Independence Lane, Lot 5, Neils Point, North Fork, Pippa, Portside Extension, Ricker Lane, Rum Cave, Salt Marsh, Tommy Cod Lane and Wilsons Cove.
