HH5K raises over $75,000!

June 27, 2014

Thanks to the amazing energy of our Hospice House 5K Participants, Teams and the overwhelming support of our sponsors, volunteers and donors, the Hospice House 5K has raised over $75,000.  These funds are used to ensure that everyone needing care at the Hospice House receives it, regardless of their ability to pay.  The funds also support the Hospice House's volunteer program and bereavement support for family members after the loss of a loved one.

While the Hospice House 5K & Remembrance Walk makes a huge impact for patient care, the needs remain great.  In 2013 Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, as whole, gave out more than $1,000,000 in charity care.  Events and fundraisers like The Hospice House 5K, The Butterfly Release, Autumn Night Out and the Holiday Remembrance Ornament all play a part in the greater fundraising efforts for AHCH, supplementing the Annual Fund, which provides the consistent funding required for those patients in need.  Annual Fund dollars support not only the Hospice House in Auburn, but the high quality care provided in the home, nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Androscoggin, Franklin, Oxford, Kennebec, Somerset, Sagadahoc and Cumberland counties.

More than 800 people participated between the Auburn and Farmington events and 52 outstanding teams were formed to raise money for Hospice patients in need.  The HH5K Planning Committee has already begun preparations for next year and want to thank everyone for their participation, donations and support.  If you are interested in joining the HH5K Planning Comittee, contact Danielle at Danielle.Eaton@ahch.org or call (207)795-9469.
