MAINE ST & BRUNSWICK LANDING STOPS PART OF REVISED BRUNSWICK EXPLORER BUS SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE JULY 8th

Western Maine Transportation Services (WMTS), is pleased to announce a revised Brunswick Explorer schedule effective Monday, July 8th, 2019.

Thanks to the Brunswick Town Council and the METRO BREEZ, the Brunswick Explorer will now share all 4 BREEZ stops, allowing riders easier access to downtown shops and services.

Brunswick Station was already a shared stop between the two bus services and Amtrak.

The new shared stops are:

  • eastbound at Bowdoin College on Bath Road, across from First Parish Church, which replaces the stop at Druckenmiller Hall
  • eastbound in front of Walgreens (Rite Aid) on Maine Street
  • westbound across from Walgreens (Rite Aid) on the mall

The new schedule also incorporates 4 scheduled runs to Brunswick Landing:

  • eastbound at 7:36 AM, 8:36 AM and 11:36 AM
  • westbound at 1:15 PM

Stops on Brunswick Landing will be located at:

  • Southern Maine Community College’s Orion Hall,
  • the intersection of Burbank Ave. and Orion Street near both Savilinx and Wayfair

A request stop, requiring one-hour notice for pick-up, but none for drop-off, will be available on Venture Ave. to serve the YMCA and Brunswick Recreation Center during any of the 4 runs on Brunswick Landing.

There will also be a flag stop, available on any of the 4 runs without notice, available streetside at the Brunswick Naval Aviation Museum on Admiral Fitch Ave., across from Mölnlycke. Riders will need to wait on the sidewalk, on the museum side of Admiral Fitch Ave., and wave the bus down as it approaches.

Service to Brunswick Landing, other than at the four scheduled times, will be available on request, only after 2:00PM, and will require at least 1 hour notice in advance of the desired pick-up time by calling 207-721-9600.

“We are very encouraged to have these new stops listed on the schedule,” said WMTS General Manager, Sandy Buchanan. “Not only does this allow us to provide better service to our riders, but it also enhances the Brunswick Explorer’s importance to the community.”

Updated schedules will be available on Brunswick Explorer buses, and at the Brunswick Station Information Center.

A printable schedule will also be available on-line at www.brunswickexplorer.org and on the Brunswick Explorer Facebook page.
