Susan Giffard Leads Newly Renamed Treasury Management Department at Camden National Bank

November 30, 2015

Camden National Bank is pleased to announce that Susan Giffard, senior vice president, director of treasury management and government banking, will lead the newly renamed department in its corporate and government treasury management business development efforts. Formerly known as Corporate Services, the new name better reflects the wide range of services the Bank offers larger business clients.  Located in Portland, Camden and Bangor, the team will assist commercial, municipal and nonprofit customers with services and technology to improve cash flow, maximize investments and manage and control funds.

“The renaming of our Corporate Services group reflects the true breadth of services that Camden National offers our larger business clients, and we are excited to have Susan leading this versatile group,” said Nightingale. “Through her previous roles at KeyBank and Fleet Bank (now Bank of America), Susan brings more than 20 years of experience working with financial institutions on credit services and international payment solutions and managing relationships. She will be a great asset in helping us meet the needs of our commercial and government clients and continue to support Maine’s businesses in their financial endeavors.”

Giffard came to Camden National in April after serving as senior vice president and senior relationship manager for KeyBank and developing and managing portfolios for financial institutions throughout New England and New York. In her new role at Camden National, she will be responsible for leading efforts in identifying and bringing new cash management and treasury management products and services to the bank’s clients. Born in Fort Kent, Giffard attended the University of Maine, and currently lives in North Yarmouth.

“As a Mainer and a career banker, I knew that Camden National was a strong organization that was committed to Maine’s communities and clients, and I wanted to be a part of that team,” said Giffard. “Even after being here less than a year, I can attest that this organization is passionate about being a community bank and what that means. We are dedicated to serving our customers, whether they come to us for their personal or business banking needs, and this change to our department is just one example of that.”

The Treasury Management team is aligned with the Bank’s commercial banking teams, Acadia Trust representatives, and the statewide network of branches to support Camden National’s business clients at all levels and address their unique challenges and objectives. The team includes a dedicated cash management group of professionals and tenured treasury management experts who have worked with and understand the needs of commercial and nonprofit clients as well as Maine municipalities and can provide advice and assistance in helping them manage their cash flow, reduce costs, increase control and maximize productivity. The department currently services close to 300 municipalities in the State of Maine and manages more than $350 million in municipal deposits.

Camden National Bank’s Commercial Banking Group has 21 commercial bankers located in 12 lending centers throughout Maine and New Hampshire. With a lending capacity of over $37 million for each relationship, the Commercial Banking team has broad experience in areas such as asset based lending, construction and commercial real estate development lending, equipment financing, and commercial mortgages. In addition, the team can meet all the financial needs of its customers with additional services such as business deposit products, merchant services, and extensive treasury management services.
