This program introduces participants to our native Maine mammals. We will study a mounted animal and a collection of skulls, study skins, and other specimens to observe characteristics, such as teeth, feet, and fur. We use these observations as clues to understanding each mammal’s adaptations, niche, and habitat. This program also provides a living example of a non-releasable wild mammal. Designed for ages 8 and up, but open to anyone who can sit quietly through a presentation. Limit first 100 people.
