LATE SUMMER GARDENING – How to optimize your Maine Garden by Linton Studdiford
August 14, 1-4 p.m., Studdiford gardens, Brunswick

This seminar/workshop will explore how to optimize your garden space as summer wanes and cooler fall days approach. We will look at the use of raised beds to extend the growing season, planting garlic, late fall and early winter tasks, and some preservation techniques. The seminar will take place at the Studdiford gardens in Brunswick.

Linton Studdiford is a Master Gardener and holds a Certificate in Native Plants and Ecological Horticulture from the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Linton and his wife, Bonnie, have gardens in Brunswick that cover about three acres and include two large vegetable gardens, six raised beds, two perennial beds, an herb garden, a woodland and a shade garden, plantings of unusual and native trees, and a small orchard.
