September Chamber After Hours at CREA and The Duck 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM The Duck Pub & Restaurant, 114 Village Drive , Topsham

The Chamber After Hours in September will be at The Duck Pub and Restaurant, 114 Village Drive in Topsham. It is located at Highland Green, adjacent to The Highland Green Golf Course. The event is co-hosted by The Duck Pub and the nonprofit Cathance River Education Alliance (CREA) whose nature-based programming reaches thousands of schoolchildren and people of all ages each year.

Join us for the first After Hours of the fall, and network with your friends and maybe make some new ones.  The registration table, food and drinks will be at The Duck (parking on the side of the road once the lot is full, is best.  We will also have shuttle tours of the CREA center picking up and dropping off from The Duck.  The first tour will begin at 5:20PM.

The Duck Pub is operated by Resurrection Golf, which manages the Highland Green Golf Club and other golf courses in Maine. Cathance River Education Alliance has been bringing frogs’ eggs and all that is wondrous in nature to schoolchildren, summer campers, and the Midcoast community since 2000. CREA provides nature-based curricula, teaching resources, and professional support to K-12 schools in the Brunswick and MSAD 75 public school districts. It also operates six weeks of outdoor day camp for children ages 8-16, and provides community nature programs for area residents of all ages.

Through its work in the schools and summer camp, CREA strives to engage children with the outdoors at a young age, connecting them with nature and all the benefits that accrue from time outdoors. CREA works to balance the influence of technology on children and adults, piquing curiosity and interest that often leads to more time outdoors, experiencing and observing the natural world.  Most of its work is based at its solar-powered Ecology Center (EC), a structure intended to connect the community to the natural world. The EC is located at 230-acre Cathance River Nature Preserve at Highland Green, home to the pristine Cathance River, vernal pools, and 5 miles of trails - the perfect setting for outdoor, nature-based teaching and learning.  Overlooking the Highland Green Golf Club, The Duck is a local go-to spot. Recently renovated, the lower floor features a Pub/Lounge with rustic poured concrete bar, old barn wood framing and accents, an extensive collection of local beer and spirits, and fantastic wines.  The upper floor houses a lovely restaurant that provides a fine dining experience created by popular Chef Danielle. The Duck Pub/Restaurant is a new local hang out, a place to bring friends, family, and colleagues for food, drink, and lively conversation. FMI, visit: https://www.theduckpub.com/
