“How to Be a Naturalist in the Digital Age” with Nat Wheelwright 6:30 PM Curtis Memorial Library , Brunswick Do you enjoy the natural world and would you like to deepen your experience of it? Naturalist Nathaniel T. Wheelright has created some simple, and clever ways to do so, inspiring listeners to become more mindful, curious and knowledgeable about the natural world in the digital age.

The presentation will also describe how Nathaniel conceived of and carried out a year-long weekly series of short Nature Moments, a series of 3 minute videos made in Maine explaining (or capturing) a variety of fascinating and ordinary events. He will also cover his recent Fulbright-funded efforts to export the model to Columbia, where he worked with students to create Momentos Naturales Colombia.

Nat will also describe how he came to write The Naturalist’s Notebook, a beautiful book co-authored with Bernd Heinrich, a guide for people who want to observe what’s happening in their own personal world of nature.

Come learn and expand your understanding of what it means to experience nature.
