Your host, staff member Dave, has handpicked three of his favorites in the pride genre. Whether you are “family” nor not, you will find universal themes which will resonate with everyone. Some will make you laugh out loud and others might make you cry. This week: Pride (2014), Starring Andrew Scott, Dominic West, Imelda Staunton, and Bill Nighy. Based on actual events, this film depicts U.K. gay activists working to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984. Uplifting, funny, heartfelt and historically accurate rolled into one great film. Rated R. Popcorn will be provided, but feel free to bring a non-alcoholic beverage or favorite throw along and get comfortable while being entertained.
