Mid Coast Hospital to sponsor “Global Feast: Blue Zones Kitchen” March 12

Brunswick, ME – On Thursday, March 12, Mid Coast Hospital is excited to sponsor “Global Feast: Blue Zones Kitchen” at Frontier.

Part of the Frontier Studios Series, “Global Feast: Blue Zones Kitchen” will feature David McLain, the photographer behind The New York Times best-selling cookbook The Blue Zones Kitchen: 100 Recipes to Live to 100.

Through research, writer and Blue Zones founder Dan Buettner discovered five places around the world where people live the longest and are healthiest: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece, and Loma Linda, California. To create The Blue Zones Kitchen, David and Dan traveled to each location, dubbed “blue zones,” and documented the recipes and dietary traditions of the longest-lived people on Earth.

Community members are invited to join David at Frontier as he shares stories, photography, and tastings of some “longevity food” featured in the book.

“Global Feast: Blue Zones Kitchen” will run from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on March 12. Tickets are $30 and include a drink ticket, food tastings, and a presentation by David McLain. Gulf of Maine Books will also be present to sell copies of The Blue Zones Kitchen: 100 Recipes to Live to 100, and David will be available for signing.
