Spring StoryWalk® Animal Tracks & Track Craft 10:00 AM CREA Ecology Center , Topsham

Join CREA on Thursday, March 26th for a morning of exploring the forest of the Cathance River Nature Preserve and the CREA Ecology Center with your little(s) from 10am-11:30am.

We’ll gather at 10:00am at the CREA Ecology Center, then head out on the Barnes Leap Trail of the Cathance River Nature Preserve to experience CREA’s new Spring StoryWalk® as a group. We’ll read the StoryWalk® book “Animal Tracks” by Vermont Naturalist Mary Holland while we walk the trail together. Parents and Caregivers are welcome to share in the reading.

After we finish the StoryWalk® we’ll return to the CREA Ecology Center to warm up and for sensory exploration with CREA’s array of pelts, minerals and rocks, animal skulls and more. Children and caregivers will then have an opportunity to create their own animal track art to take home.

The road to the CREA Ecology Center from the parking area as well as the Barnes Leap Trail are loose gravel, hardy-strollers are welcome, although child carriers are recommended. Families are welcome to bring their own snacks, and everyone is encouraged to bring a full reusable water bottle.

The CREA Ecology Center is an off-grid facility. We do provide drinking water and have a pit toilet available.

This event is FREE and open to CREA Members and the community. Recommended for children ages: 0-5 with a Parent or Caregiver.
