Taking Wing: A Century of Flight in Brunswick-Topsham – A Virtual Exhibit Tour by the Curator

Thursday, July 15th at Noon, via Zoom

Whether or not you've see the new PHC exhibit yet, this high-flying review of aviation history in our region will surprise and inform you. There's an inordinate amount of flight history in our neck of the woods, of great significance to the state and the nation.

Such as when a couple of Army “birdmen” landed the first airplane in Brunswick on a golf course in the summer of 1921. And when a young woman named Ann Wood talked her way into Bowdoin College’s all-male Civilian Pilot Training program, then went on to become one of the most accomplished female pilots during World War II in the British Air Transport Auxiliary. Not to mention when the government carved out a Naval Air Station of national significance during the Cold War. Join curator Jym St. Pierre for this special virtual tour!

Tickets: PHC Members FREE; Non-Members $5. Zoom link provided in Eventbrite confirmation email.
