Exploring the Preserve with Nature Writer and Videographer Aislinn Sarnacki 1:00 PM Cathance River Education Alliance, 28 Rensenbrink Way , Topsham

Join a guided nature walk on the 230-acre Cathance River Nature Preserve in Topsham. This walk will lead down to the banks of the Cathance River at a slow pace, stopping along the way so we can inspect different wild plants, mushrooms, lichens and any animals we come across. Bring your cameras and binoculars. Aislinn will happily share what she knows about documenting the wilderness through photography, videos and writing along the way. The walk will begin and end at the Cathance River Education Alliance Ecology Center, where there will be opportunities to ask Aislinn questions and purchase signed copies of her three hiking guidebooks.

Aislinn Sarnacki is the author of three hiking guidebooks: “Family-Friendly Hikes in Maine,” “Maine Hikes off the Beaten Path” and “Dog-Friendly Hikes in Maine.” She is a columnist for the Bangor Daily News and Bangor Metro magazine, writing about outdoor recreation and nature. Originally from Winterport, she now lives in Dedham with her husband, Derek, their dog, Juno, and two cats, Bo and Arrow. You can find her writing at bangordailynews.com/act-out and her hiking videos on the Bangor Daily News YouTube channel.
