Join CREA and Bowdoin Biology Professor Emeritus Nat Wheelwright for a walk around the Preserve as he describes some of the winter preparation taking place behind the scenes. Nature in autumn can seem quiet compared to summer, but behind the calm there is a frenzy of activity – movement, feeding, last-minute reproduction. It’s an exciting time to take a look at the lives of local plants and animals as they prepare for winter.
Professor Wheelwright is co-author (with Bernd Heinrich) of The Naturalist’s Notebook, and producer of the Nature Moments video series.
Registration required. Max of 15 participants.
