Join Hospice of Southern Maine for our VIRTUAL Thresholds Conference; Grief is Individual and Universal.

it will be a conversation about grief. While grief is unique to each of us as individuals, it is also a shared, universal human experience. The last two years have seen loss on an unprecedented scale and changed the way grief is felt and experienced on all levels. The time to talk about grief is now.

Join us to hear from Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love, on the experience of losing her partner, Rayya Elias, and from Michelle Zauner, who will read from Crying in H Mart, her poignant memoir about losing her mother. Each speaker will participate in a Q&A session following their presentation.

The general public, caregivers, healthcare professionals and students, faith leaders, and anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend this community-wide event.

About Elizabeth Gilbert: Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir, Eat, Pray, Love, exploded onto the scene in 2006. In the years since, people around the world have looked to Elizabeth for guidance in leading brave, authentic, and creative lives. In her lectures, Elizabeth talks about her writing and seizing the opportunity to live a life guided by creativity rather than fear.

About Michelle Zauner: Michelle Zauner is best known as a singer and guitarist of the indie-pop band Japanese Breakfast. She is also the New York Times best-selling author of Crying in H Mart, an unflinching, powerful memoir about growing up Korean American, losing her mother, and forging her own identity.
