Caesar Freeman: An 18th-Century Free Black Man in Bowdoin, Maine
with Jym St. Pierre
Thursday, February 23 at Noon, via Zoom

During Black History Month, Jym St. Pierre will present his research on Caesar Freeman, one of the first settlers of the Town of Bowdoin, Maine and a free Black man. An early member of the First Baptist Church of Bowdoin, Freeman had his own nameplate on a pew and Caesar’s Pond in Bowdoin is named for him. Jym will trace his arrival in Bowdoin, his livelihood and family life, and how some of his descendants married into families that settled in Brunswick.

Tickets: $5 PHC Members, Bowdoinham Historical Society Members, Bowdoin Historical Society Members; $8 General Admission
