Pig + Poet, the thoughtful American eatery located inside Whitehall in the heart of Camden, Maine, kicks off the season with Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 14th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. A seasonal a la carte menu presented by Lark Hotels Group Executive Chef Justin Perdue will include lobster toast, oysters, mimosas and more. Additionally, on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00pm, Pig + Poet honors its history with its inaugural Poetry Night hosted by Maine’s own Joe Ricchio and featuring poet Arielle Greenberg. Pig + Poet will offer buck-a-shuck oysters on Poetry Night, and every subsequent Wednesday this season.

Pig + Poet’s Poetry Jam honors the memory of Edna St. Vincent Millay, who was discovered at Whitehall in 1912. Joining featured poet Arielle Greenberg will be Maine-based writers Meg Willing, Roxanne Dragon, Rufus Nicoll, Nick Schroeder, Adelyn Connolly and Jacob Fricke. The cost to attend Poetry Night is $12, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance, which specifically supports female writers in the midcoast region. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Eventbrite. The poet with the best explanation of why they should receive an overnight stay at Whitehall will be deemed the winner.

Highlights from the Pig + Poet menu include:
- Heirloom Tomato Toast with avocado, greens, cucumber and lemon aioli
- Crispy Pig Ears with chili dust and poet hot sauce
- Braised Lamb Hand Pie with smoked lamb, spicy tzatziki and cucumbers
- Compressed Watermelon Salad with strawberry, vanilla, basil, citrus avocado purée, aged raspberry balsamic - Lobster Mac + Cheese with orecchiette, mornay, English peas, basil/pea purée
- Porcini Gnocchi with locally cultivated mushrooms, English peas, shaved pecorino romano, morel butter crème
