Bowdoin College professor Meryem Belkaid will lecture on “The Woman Destroyed” by Simone de Beauvoir, author of “The Second Sex.” Like America with the #MeToo campaign, France is reeling from sexual harassment scandals, but in different ways. Professor Belkaid will discuss some timely ideas of de Beauvoir in this Bowdoin Book Lecture, which is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Association of Bowdoin Friends.
