Maine's First Ship Volunteer Docent Training 1:00 AM Bath Freight Shed, 27 Commercial Street , Bath

Virginia wants you!

Don't know one end of a chisel from the other? Can't hit a treenail to save your life? Don't know what a treenail is? You are just what we want: we are looking for people who like to talk, spin a good sea yarn, and tell the story of *Virginia*, answering such questions as, "Why is Maine's First Ship called *Virginia*?" Volunteer docent training Saturday, May 12 from 1-3 at the Bath Freight Shed on the waterfront. No experience required.

Our volunteer docents are critical to the success of Maine's First Ship: greeting visitors from all over the world and talking about MFS and the Virginia Project. Don’t worry if you feel you don’t know enough about the history and archeology, or the ship Virginia--there are plenty of materials to answer any question. Come for training and see the resources available, the exhibit prepared for the summer, and the current progress on building the pinnace Virginia.

Spend part of your summer amidst the smell of freshly fashioned planks with an aura of the past around you. All are welcome!
