GWI was founded in 1994 with the primary goal of bringing internet to all of Maine. This began over 25 years ago with GWI offering dial-up service and has since evolved into building one of the most high-speed, reliable, fiber-optic based network infrastructures in the state. GWI offers services to both residential customers as well as businesses in all 16 counties of Maine with an emphasis on customer experience and service. We also partner with municipalities to construct and manage networks from Ellsworth to Sanford.
Our goal is simple: to provide our customers with the fastest, most reliable internet services available and to advocate for open access, data privacy and net neutrality. With GWI internet, these are initiatives we intend to keep.
