MAINE’S LARGEST INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT and TRADESHOW FEATURES TECHNOLOGY INNOVATORS

The Maine Technology Users Group (MTUG) will hold its 29th Annual Information Technology Summit and Tradeshow on Thursday, June 2nd 2016, 7:30am to 4pm, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, 88 Spring Street, Portland. An expected 500 IT professionals will gather to share technology experiences and the latest in techniques, services and products.

This year's Keynote Speaker is Jamie Popkin, Managing Vice President of Data Management Strategies at Gartner Research. In his address, "Becoming a Data and Analytics Leader in the Digital Business Era" – Mr. Popkin will show how analytics are essential for small and mid-size companies to thrive in the digital business era, focusing on best practices for how to get started with business analytics.

The event features 15 workshops and demonstrations across 5 tracks: DevOps, IT Infrastructure, Security, "Lessons Learned/Great Mistakes", and “Tech Sandbox” (hands on technology demonstrations) on topics such as campus wifi installations, business continuity, cloud disasters, 3D printing, municipal broadband, dev ops roadmap, DIY raspberry pi scoreboards, and more.  Most workshops will be led or co-led by "end-user" IT professionals at Maine-based organizations; sectors represented include finance, education, nonprofits, local and state government, professional services, and manufacturing.

The exhibit hall of 59 vendor booths will be open all day, with IT and telecom infrastructure, service, consulting and training vendors from Maine and across the nation.

The expected 500 attendees will include IT and telecom professionals and senior business and operations managers from Maine and New Hampshire, representing all sectors and industries, including government, finance, education, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, nonprofit organizations and more. With three food events around sessions, there will be plenty of time to network, share ideas, and ask questions of presenters and vendors.

Registration fee is $45 early bird by 5/20/16, $50 advanced purchase, and $60 on the event day. Student discounts are available. Fee includes continental breakfast, buffet lunch, keynote, workshops, exhibit hall access and afternoon refreshments. To receive updates via Twitter, follow @MTUG_Maine and search for #MTUG2016.
