Edgecomb sits on the banks of the Sheepscott River and is home to Fort Edgecomb, an octagonal, wooden, two story block house, which is located on Davis Island and dates its origins back to 1809. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is listed as State Historic Site. Tours of the fort are available during the summer.
Edgecomb is also home to numerous artists who create custom woodwork, metal work, sculpture, paintings and other decorative arts. Its rolling hills and wooded lands make it a lovely place for visitors and residents alike.
