Among J. S. Bach's most beloved masterpieces are his sets of Suites and Partitas for solo violin and solo violoncello, a sampling of which will animate this concert. To explore Bach's roots we'll travel to France with a harpsichord suite by the Francophile Froberger and a Suite for Chalumeau by Boismortier. Displaying their virtuosity will be Thomas Carroll, chalumeau, Susanna Ogata, 1772 Klotz violin, Sarah Freiberg, 1784 Merlin violoncello, and Linda Skernick, Italian harpsichord.
