Barry Dana Canoe Launch Times Two
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens Expert-in-Residence Barry Dana, a leader of the Penobscot nation and master of traditional Native American crafts, will launch the birch-bark canoe he made at the Gardens in the Children’s Garden at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, followed by a launch in the Back River. He will also comment on the construction and traditional uses of such canoes. Free for members and for all others with paid admission.
