The Mid Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross is hosting their 3rd Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Monday, 26 September 2011 at the challenging 9-hole Scottish links course at Highland Green Golf Club in Topsham. Check-in begins at 8:00 am, for a 9:00 am tee off. All proceeds will support the Chapter’s mission to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Advance registration is requested. The fee is $200 per team of four, and includes carts, luncheon, awards, and complimentary team photos. Mulligans, 50/50 and prize raffles will be available. Prizes will be awarded for teams placing first, second and third, and for longest drives and shots closest to the pin for both female and male golfers. Courtesy of Danielle Emery of Ameriprise Financial, the first player to make a hole-in-one from the designated tee will win a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 4-door hardtop from Bodwell Motors. The Mid Coast Chapter, based in Topsham, serves 101,000 residents in 36 communities in northern Cumberland, Lincoln and Sagadahoc Counties. Its programs include health and safety education, disaster preparedness and relief, emergency assistance to military families, blood services and international services. The Chapter receives no financial assistance from the state or federal government. Its volunteers rely upon contributions from individual donors and corporate sponsors such as the firms supporting this tournament – Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine, Anthony Mancini, Inc., Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Company, The Highlands, Highland Green and Sun Life Financial – to provide immediate assistance to victims of disaster, both natural and manmade.
